WHAT IS THE S THING™
The S Thing™ is a love letter to that thing you drew in high school (over and over again): part-historic record, part-creative platform. Through charity auctions, creative collaborations, fun products and rich storytelling, The S Thing™ aims to support and inspire the community that it belongs to.
S THING CHARITY AUCTION
The world is full of amazing artists and creatives who are inspired by the "S." We created a moment in time to celebrate each other's diverse crafts & to contribute towards a charitable cause by raising funds for kids in need.
Partnering with 50 artists, we received visionary pieces such as stained glass windows, paintings, jewelry, digital prints, piñatas, "S" figurines, skateboard gear, and many other imaginative "S" themed items.
We teamed up with Free Arts NYC @freeartsnyc and each $1 raised = 1 months art supplies for kids living in transitional housing.
The next Charity Auction is set for 2024.
S THING DRAWING CHALLENGE
The S Thing Drawing Challenge™ was setup to invite artists of all skill levels to think outside the box and get creative and draw their S.
Our challenge inspired over 500 artists to submit their designs. The majority of these artists are just 11-16 years old.
In total these sketches take 5-12 hours including outline, design and coloring. Fans are using anywhere between 5-50+ pens to produce the finished pieces. This is between school, sports, homework and sleep.
Their dedication to this art form is unmatched.
S THING FORTNITE CHALLENGE
The S Thing Fortnite Challenge™ started off as a simple dare. We asked a fan to create the S within the 3d digital world of Fornite Battle Royal.
Since the gameplay can be up to 100 players in each world, the S quickly gained popularity and went viral amongst its fans, most notably a larger female presence in this challenge. We received thousands of submissions.
Each S takes fans over an hour to make.

From sell-out fashion popups at Selfridges to nostalgic novelties at Urban, The S Thing is a versatile brand appealing to a myriad of cultures, genres and generations.
To share in this opportunity with our fans, we collaborate with different artists from around the world on fashion pieces like apparel, jewelry, gear and stationary.

Uncovering the mysteries behind the global cult phenomenon that has influenced the world.
The Mystery – Exploring ancient mosques in Egypt, Renaissance paintings in London and the legendary streetwear designer Shawn Stüssy to uncover the truth behind the rumors.
The Spread – Investigating how the 'S' became famous even before the internet, examining the ways it spread far and wide, and exploring the mediums and cultures it influenced along the way.
Today – Generations later, we delve into the world of talented artists and everyday individuals who are reinventing the ‘S’ and thus continuing the legacy.
